Each year all students are encourage to participate in the Swimming program. It is an intensive program (10 days) usually run late each year.

Footscray North Primary School Inter-School Sports Competition Summary
At Footscray North Primary School, we are committed to promoting sportsmanship and physical activity among our students. We offer a variety of sports throughout the year, providing opportunities for our students to showcase their talents and grow as individuals and as part of a team.
Swimming (Grades 4 - 6)
Early Term 1: Swimming Team tryouts at Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre, supervised by Tyrone O'Connor.
Early Term 1: District Swimming Carnival at Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre, supervised by Tyrone O'Connor.
Mid Term 1: Divisional Swimming Carnival at Oak Park Leisure Centre, supervised by Tyrone O’Connor.
Students who advance to further rounds will require parental supervision and transportation.
Cross Country (Grades 4 - 6)
Mid Term 1: Cross Country Team tryouts at FNPS.
Mid Term 1: District Cross Country competition at Hansen Reserve, supervised by Tyrone O'Connor.
Mid Term 2: Divisional Cross Country competition at Brimbank Park, supervised by Tyrone O'Connor.
Students progressing to subsequent rounds will need parental supervision and transportation.
Athletics (Grades 4 - 6)
Early Term 3: FNPS Athletics Carnival at FNPS.
Mid Term 3: District Athletics Carnival at Essendon Athletics Track, supervised by Tyrone O’Connor.
Late Term 3: Divisional Athletics Carnival at Keilor Park Athletics Track, supervised by Tyrone O’Connor.
Students advancing to further rounds will require parental supervision and transportation.
Gala Days (Grades 5 - 6)
Gala sports days can vary.
Sports coordinators in the district have the opportunity to propose and organise various gala days throughout the year, allowing our school to compete with others in the district.
In the past, we have participated in Kanga Cricket days.
We will now be participating in a Modified European Handball competition held at FNPS.
Winter Sports (Grades 5 - 6)
Winter sports include Football, Soccer, Netball, and Tee Ball.
The selection and training process takes place during Term 1. Students who are not selected into teams will join the multisports program at FNPS.
Matches are played during Term 2 at FNPS, other schools, and sports grounds in the district.
For away matches, students will either walk or buses will be booked. Students will be coached and supervised by members of the grade 5 and 6 staff.
Teams have the opportunity to progress to the district, divisional, regional, and even state finals.
Summer Sports (Grades 5 - 6)
Summer sports include Cricket, Newcombe, Basketball, and Bat Tennis.
The selection and training process occurs during Term 2. Students not selected into teams will join the multisports program at FNPS.
Matches are played during Term 4 at FNPS, other schools, and sports grounds in the district.
There are no further competition advancements for our Summer Sports.
